Meet the team
Gwenne
Mum to four girls and the mastermind behind our journey, it was Gwenne’s wonderfully “crazy” idea that brought Lazy Woodpeckers to life five years ago, and we’ve never looked back!
As one of our most passionate glass makers, Gwenne pours her heart into every piece she creates. She’s also the super organised force behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly and somehow keeping us all on track.
If there’s one thing you’ll notice about her work, it’s colour. Gwenne absolutely loves it, and her creations are often bursting with vibrant, joyful tones. Oh, and keep an eye out… you might just spot a little Stitch-inspired touch here and there too!
Mike
Gwenne’s partner in crime and a key part of the Lazy Woodpeckers story, Mike is creativity through and through. He’s behind many of our glass pieces, especially the larger, more ambitious creations that really stand out.
Mike is also the one who came up with our fun and memorable name, so we have him to thank for that! Alongside his glass work, he crafts all of the large wooden pieces you’ll see around the studio, adding his signature touch to the space.
You’ll often find him checking on the kiln or working closely with Gwenne to keep the whole creation process running smoothly. And if you’re lucky, you might spot the piece he’s most proud of, a full English breakfast made entirely from glass!
Coral
As the eldest of the four sisters, Coral is the organised one who keeps us all in check. She’s our resident mathematician, making sure the business side of things runs just as smoothly as the creative side, handling all the numbers and everything in between.
You’ll often spot Coral out at craft fairs, chatting to customers and coming up with new and exciting ways to promote what we do. She’s full of ideas and always thinking of the next opportunity.
And while she’s usually busy behind the scenes, Coral does occasionally get creative too. She’s made some beautiful pieces of her own, including a unicorn she was so proud of, she very nearly kept it for herself!
Jade
As the second eldest sister, Jade is one of our primary glass makers, working closely with Gwenne to bring ideas to life. She’s often found in the studio, completely in her element, letting her creativity flow as she designs and creates some of our most popular pieces.
Alongside her making, Jade also runs some of our classes, helping others create their very own artwork in the studio. She has a real talent for teaching and loves sharing her skills with others.
Jade doesn’t stop there either. She’s the one behind our social media, keeping everything looking fresh and inspiring online. Creative through and through, Jade really is our go to girl for all things imaginative!
Skye
As the third sister, Skye is a key part of keeping everything connected and running smoothly. She organises our meetings, keeps us all on the same page, and is often out at craft fairs helping showcase and sell our beautiful creations.
Skye also runs our Etsy shop, making sure our pieces find their way to customers far and wide. From uploading products to managing orders, she keeps everything ticking along online.
More recently, Skye has been developing her own glass working skills, and we’re excited to see her creating more of her own artwork for the business. It’s safe to say she’s quickly becoming a creative force in her own right!
Jazz
As the youngest of the sisters, Jazz is our go to for all things technical. She’s the brains behind the website, making sure everything stays up to date and running smoothly, while also supporting our marketing campaigns behind the scenes.
You’ll sometimes spot Jazz at craft fairs too, helping out and getting involved. Although, more often than not, she can be found wandering off to support other wonderful creators and picking up a few lovely finds along the way!
